MaConSim Release Notes
Last updated: September 24, 2026
MaConSim GmbH
All notable changes to MaConSim are documented below.
[1.3.0] – 2026-09-24
Added
- Database trigger management: full CRUD operations for database triggers with SQL validation, including CREATE, ALTER, and DROP statements. Triggers can be associated with specific plants and include comprehensive metadata.
- Custom variable management: full CRUD operations for custom entity fields, allowing users to define additional data fields on various entities with support for different data types and validation.
- Table column filtering and search: added column-specific filters and global search fields to all data management tables, enabling quick data discovery and filtering.
- Plant export/import now includes database triggers, custom variables, and materials for complete plant configuration transfer.
- Database triggers for custom_variables table: automatic tracking of changes to custom variables.
Changed
- Custom variables and database triggers reorganized under a new "Advanced Database Features" section in the plant navigation for better discoverability and organization.
- Windows application startup: main window now initializes hidden and only appears after successful startup, preventing error dialogs from flashing and disappearing during initialization.
Fixed
- SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) frontend bugs: removed unused code and fixed type definitions.
- Database query write-back: fixed distinct user warning about uniqueness validation for selected columns.
- Dialog window maximizing: resolved fullscreen dialog sizing and positioning issues.
- OPC UA X.509 client authentication: fixed certificate thumbprint handling with proper line ending support.
[1.2.0] – 2026-09-14
Added
- Materials master data management: full CRUD operations for materials with plant-scoping, including material number, name, description, unit of measure, and material type. Materials can be linked to orders, SFCs, and order history for complete traceability.
- Alert acknowledgment in Operator Dashboard: operators can now acknowledge alerts directly from the order details panel, with visual indicators showing acknowledged and active alert counts.
- SFC PAUSED status: SFCs now have a dedicated PAUSED status, making paused SFCs distinguishable from freshly queued ones. PAUSED SFCs can be reloaded alongside NEW/QUEUED/IN_PROCESS/HOLD statuses.
Changed
- Database query builder now shows column headers even for empty tables, improving clarity when previewing queries with no matching rows.
- Machine-alert connections now support per-connection probability settings, allowing each linked alert to fire independently per takt (multiple alerts can fire in the same takt instead of only one being randomly selected).
- NC code occurrences are now linked to their originating SFC for better traceability, showing both SFC ID and SFC number.
Fixed
- Database Reference queries using JOINs now properly track and react to underlying data changes.
- Plant export now works correctly with proper permission handling in the backend.
- Plant import/export and OPC UA NodeSet2 file operations now work on Windows (previously failed silently).
- Order queue inconsistencies between views: fixed FIFO ordering so the next order to be processed is shown on top, and deleting an order process no longer leaves orphaned SFCs that caused discrepancies between different order views.
- Application now displays native error dialogs for migration failures, providing clearer feedback when startup issues occur.
- OPC UA X.509 client authentication now works correctly, with proper certificate thumbprint handling for trusted certificates.
[1.1.0] – 2026-09-08
Added
- Enhanced Database Reference with powerful query capabilities:
- SQL JOIN support: connect multiple database tables with INNER, LEFT, or RIGHT joins, configure ON conditions with various comparison operators, and use table aliases for clarity.
- Filter conditions: add multiple conditions with operators (=, ≠, <, ≤, >, ≥, contains, is one of, between, is empty, is not empty) and connect them with AND/OR logic.
- Latest Entry preset: quick configuration that sorts by id descending with limit 1.
- Sorting and limiting: sort by any column (ASC/DESC), set row limits, add offsets, and use aggregation functions (MAX, MIN, COUNT, SUM, AVG) for numeric columns.
- Formatting options: add prefix/suffix text, specify default values for empty results, and manually override data types.
- Connect alerts to NC codes: automatically trigger linked NC codes when an alert fires during simulation.
- Plant-scoped scenarios: scenarios are now associated with specific plants instead of being user-global.
- Event-driven order queue: order management is now decoupled from scenarios and uses event-based monitoring.
- OPC UA standard types: view standard ns=0 type catalog in the Type Definitions view.
- Modify orders during runtime through improved backend functionality.
- Plant import/export via Tauri and REST APIs for better integration.
- OPC UA Method Builder: create methods using Python code or a visual no-code interface.
Changed
- Simulation can now auto-start when transitioning from stopped to idle state.
- Order Queue page now shows machine details immediately and has collapsible production queue lists.
- Machine filter is now applied to the Recently Completed Orders list.
- Dialog popups now include a fullscreen toggle button for better workspace management.
Fixed
- OPC UA method calls now properly persist simulation effects (e.g., loading orders) instead of silently discarding them.
[1.0.0] – 2026-07-25
Added
- Initial public release of MaConSim.
- Core simulation engine.
- User interface for parameter configuration.
- Basic input/output functionality.
